Oh. And don't regulate them either.

I happen to disagree with that.

I believe the thoughtful regulation of business to ensure that businesses are forced to operate in a way that is beneficial to society is a very good and necessary responsibility of the government. To me, that is part of the infrastructure that makes the country stronger.

Unfortunately, much of the regulation of business does not do that. I think you would agree (per your 2008 reference) that the government regulation of the financial industry was the main reason for the 2008 economic collapse. Both parties were equally involved in this lack of fiduciary irresponsibility. BTW, Canada did a very good job of regulating their financial industry and did not suffer like the US did (hate to give klein that one but its true).

The antitrust laws, the pro-labor laws, etc are examples of good, socially responsible regulation of business.

The jobs bill is dead. Obama can't even get a majority of democrats to support it making it a moot point to begin with.
Maybe. Probably get him re-elected though. Lose the battle, win the war.[/QUOTE]

This little campaign stunt won't even be on the voters minds come next November, and as it stands some 112 electoral votes belong to states that voted for Obama in 2008 and now he has less than 50% job approval rating. This next election will be a major uphill battle for your chosen one.

I saw this quote the other day and thought it was funny - "If (Perry) were to win the nomination, the most interesting thing that it would prove is that God is a Democrat," said Stuart Stevens, a top Romney strategist.

I didn't watch the debate, but everything I've read makes it sound like Perry is turning into a train wreck.

And thanks to Perry and a Million bucks, Larry is getting 15 more minutes. Never a dull moment!

Herman Cain was great............He always injects some humor somewhere in the debate night. He made quite the point about his quick cancer treatment saving his life where he would've been dead under Obamacare.
I'm afraid his following isn't big enough to get him the candidacy. Romney/Cain??

I'd vote for that team!

I have little doubt that I understand what "Socialist leaning" means better than you. I have posted the definition of Socialism in the past so everyone would understand what it means and I have read your posts in the past so I understand that you have blinders on when it comes to understanding the steps that Obama and the Democratic party have taken to push the United States towards a "Western European Socialist Democracy" (look that up).
That
ain't
socialism.

Lost in all of this is the fact that NJ Gov Chris Christie is sitting on the sidelines pondering a run for the White House. He stepped up to the plate during Hurricane Irene, providing solid leadership in a time of crisis. Don't be too surprised if he waits for Perry to implode before putting his hat in to the ring, giving Romney a run for his money.

Romney/Christie vs Obama/?? in 2012

Thanks for reasserting what I said.

What I said was "Socialist leaning", and bbsam changed it to Socialism. The ability to understand the difference between "Socialism" and "Socialist leaning" was his inability to extend a logical extension.
I did not use the phrase "Socialist leaning" by mistake.

Obama is still a corporate crony to most true lefties, so that is probably the definition that is best suited. heh

Hoax,
Good post. I stand corrected. 2014 gridlock would make sense--we have too many politicians that spend like drunken sailors. In the state I live in Politicians on both sides of the aisle have stated that there is no more fat to be cut yet the county executive still has a limosine with driver --too many politicians live like royalty on our tax money.

Christie/Rubio would be a very strong combination. Hispanic,Latin,Spanish vote very crucial. Rubio would bring that vote to right.
