Damn -- I lived in Rockford for a year-- 1966 to 1967. Worked at Ingersoll Milling Machine Co. Don't even know if it is still in business. Made a ton of money working 10 to 12 hour days back then ($3.00 to $4.00 bucks an hour + over time) .

The question is why spend so much money in Rockford only to pull most of it's volume away? I've always heard really positive things about that hub.

Also, they mentioned 90 million dollars. What are they going to invest in between Rockford and CACH?

There were rumors in 2008 that they were going to close the Des Moines day sort and have that brought to the Rockford Hub, but they delayed that when the economy slumped hard in October. I've heard since then that it is only a matter of time before that day sort gets brought to Rockford, it's just a matter of timing now. Perhaps this could be part of the 90 million they are referring to?
