Feinstein was caught black handed-(view post #91 in this thread)-and not criticized.
Your problems with perception aside, all competent public speakers have some form of quick notes.

In High School you used notes, probably the standard 3x5 cards, as did I. Standard practice.
When I took Speech in college, my professor taught to never have notes visible to the audience.
He thought, and taught, that it portrayed a lack of knowledge in the subject matter.
Eye contact was key when speaking to a crowd.
This same professor taught me to write on my palm and instructed how to give hand motions that looked natural, while I checked my notes.
This whole thing is a tempest in a tea pot and all one gets out of it is someone blowing st
Didn't the tempest start with the "charismatic guy with a teleprompter" comment?

Good for you. I do think your liberal buddies are scared the former may beat the latter.
The former because I don't see her as a real political threat, more of a political sideshow and the latter because at the end of the day there just isn't much difference between a pandering republican and a socialist democrat.

Or a corporate republican and a pandering democrat. Remember back in the 92 primaries when Paul Tsongas referred to Clinton as "Pander Bear" ? From some reason that really cracked me up :happy-very:. Tsongas was a good man.

From someone who really doesn't see her in those "hot" terms......I think she talks as if she's across the table from you having a Starbucks and people appreciate that plain talk. Not all that political rhetoric that the politicians throw around. She's more down-home like most of the citizens of the U.S. There are only so many Muffys and Brads. (no offense to any Muffy or Brad out there)

Are you trying to say presidents should not talk down to us like Obama?

I didn't think anyone thought she had anything else? Other then the liberals who are scared to death of her....but then they elected Obama what do they know.

Tie, keep repeating Americans are scared of Sarah Palin, and maybe one day you'll really believe it....

I think Sarah and Racheal Ray would make a nice pair "paling around" talking to America in their down home style of "plain talk", but speaking in the "halls of Congress", Palin may have to follow the path of the scarecrow down the yellow brick to Oz and recieve a "politically relevant" brain.

Local radio host called our last lt governor, muffy ( he has a slang for everyone ), so when she lost, he had bumper sticker made up....Sorry I vote for Muffy...as an insult to our present governor.

Rachel Ray is nothing at all like Palin. Rachel is too too too perky and makes me physically ill after a few mins.

There is nothing wrong with "plain talk". You make it sound like it's beneath you Diesel. It just means to say what you mean and mean what you say and don't spout political bullschitt !!

Gotcha "Ya".....BTW, have you tried Alaskan moose burgers ? uhm....De-lish

Speaking of political bullschitt, didn't "America's Hockey Mom" capture 2009's top honor for dishonest quote of the year, with her "death panel" rants, praying on the elderly....
