Ok so to clarify since that was alot of info that was pulled from the master agreement? So does Saturday pickups automatically qualify as extra work? Based solely on seniority? I beat out the tuesday thru sat guy for seniority. He was also at work today working preload so he really works the system.

Art 40 does not state there is a difference between PT air exception drivers and PT bid air drivers. Once the PT bid air drivers work their guaranteed 3 hours, everything else would be extra work and awarded by seniority.

After they exhaust the T-S drivers and the drivers with less than 37 hours, it is then opened up to PT air drivers no matter how many hours they have worked.

The reason for 37 hours in the contract? Saturday or Sunday air work is paid at straight time with a 3 hour guarantee. Does not matter if it is your 6th punch or not. Straight time up to 8 hours or 40 hours in the week. So if you worked under 37 hours in the week, work your 3 hour guarantee on Saturday, you will have no overtime. Worked less than 8 hours on Saturday and less than 40 hours for the week. UPS got the work done at straight time. They open it up with no hours limit after that because they have to get the work done. Then, and only then, are they willing to pay over time.

If you are the highest senior air driver and have worked 38 hours in the week, you will not be offered Saturday until all the T-S drivers and all the under 37 hour drivers are used first.

And the union will always side with UPS on getting the work done first at straight time before paying over time, no matter who has more seniority.
