Saul Alinski and Obama's 8 levels of control that must be obtained to change us to a socialist state

realbrown1

Annoy a liberal today. Hit them with facts.
1. Healthcare. Control healthcare; you control the people.

2. Poverty. Increase the poverty level; poor people are easier to control and WON'T FIGHT BACK when provided everything to live.

3. Debt. Increase the National debt to an unsustainable level. Then increase taxes; this will produce more poverty.

4. Gun Control. Remove the ability to defend themselves FROM THE GOVERNMENT; this creates a police state.

5. Welfare. Take control of every aspect of living: food, housing and income.

6. Education. Take control of what people read and listen to; take control of what children learn in school.

7. Religion. Remove the belief in God from the government and schools.

8. Class Warfare. Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor to CAUSE DISCONTENT; you will be able to TAX the wealthy more with the support of the poor.

When you plagiarize from a ignorant source, you are bound to make yourself look foolish.

It's Saul Alinsky, and that's not what he said., it's what WND said, and if you believe that dung, you are nuttier than I thought.

Here is the Snopes article showing how duped you were:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/alinsky.asp

Here are the real 'Rules For Radicals':
  1. “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood.
  2. “Never go outside the expertise of your people.” It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone.
  3. “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.” Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.
  4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.
  5. “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.
  6. “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.
  7. “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Don’t become old news.
  8. “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.
  9. “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.
  10. “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.” Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.
  11. “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem.
  12. “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions

As to RB's version, regardless of accuracy, if one ignores the purely verbal political narratives/talking points/sound bites and stick strictly to on the ground action, in varying degrees both political parties ascribe to the rules listed in the OP. But then the same can also be said of Marx's 10 planks as over the years both parties have followed those ideas.

And one doesn't have to agree totally with Alinsky's conclusions to at least appreciate some of his observations.

If one is just a little honest with themselves, all in politics use all 3 of these rules to their advantage. Thus the problem and the falsehood of politics.

How is it plagiarizing when I claimed someone else wrote it? I just reposted it here on bc.
You TROLL PATROL super TROLLS seem awfully irratated over this post. Hit too close to home? Gave away some of your playbook?

You claimed it was written by the late Saul Alinski (sp). I wasn't irratated(sp) at all, please continue.

RB does have an argument that this isn't a case of plagiarizing.

pla·gia·rize
ˈplājəˌrīz/
verb
  1. take (the work or an idea of someone else) and pass it off as one's own.
synonyms:copy, infringe the copyright of, pirate, steal, poach, appropriate;More
    informalrip off, crib, “borrow”, pinch
"he was fined for plagiarizing a song"
    • copy from (someone) and pass it off as one's own.

Now what RB seems to be doing IMO is using a kind of informal fallacy of straw manning.

A straw man is a common type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on the misrepresentation of an opponent's argument.[1] To be successful, a straw man argument requires that the audience be ignorant or uninformed of the original argument.

The so-called typical "attacking a straw man" argument creates the illusion of having completely refuted or defeated an opponent's proposition by covertly replacing it with a different proposition (i.e., "stand up a straw man") and then to refute or defeat that false argument ("knock down a straw man") instead of the original proposition.[2][3]

Seems to me however that instead of the audience being ignorant of Alinsky, it was RB himself who was.

;)

Funny (strange----for those in the TROLL PATROL) that the :censored2:s always say we conservatives get Saul wrong or don't understand the true meaning of his statements.
Trying that "fool the dumb americans" angle that worked in the passing of Obamacare.

Except you didn't claim that someone else wrote it.

You are the captain of your own patrol, let's call it the 'Anti-Troll-Patrol'.

No difference, really.
The piece stands for itself. It is a communist take over plan for the U.S. that was attributed to Saul. Whether he actually wrote it, I am not sure. But, it is in very close idealogically to Saul, so I stand by my title and post.
Now, any of you TROLL or fence sitters like to debate any of the 8 points?

Dumb, and totally untrue. We are so far removed from a Communist state that crap like this list make you look like you're totally ignorant of what Communism even is. Do yourself a favor. Turn off FOX, tune-out Limbaugh and the rest of them, and pick-up and read a book by someone who actually has a clue.

By the way, the gap between rich and poor has been accomplished by the GOP, who have ensured that the aristocratic elite control a hugely disproportionate share of this country's wealth. The other 7 are also pure crap.

You, sir, are an idiot.

RB,

As hard as it may be to believe, there is a lot about Alinsky to admire, respect even appreciate. I realize this seems almost impossible based on the talking points you've been told. And from your POV I can see where it seems impossible for a conservative voice to have even the least thing nice to say about Alinsky so on that point I give you none other than the John Birch Society and their house publication, The New American.

Just like other radicals like the late great Dorothy Day with whom I consider a hero, one can admire Alinsky on many levels without having to admire his abusers on both sides of the political fence.

For starters, the 'piece' you posted is a bastardized version of what Saul actually said.

So, not only did you not site your source (where you got that text)...you also falsely attributed it to Saul.

I'd steer you here , but you won't go through it and you won't realize at all that you posted a false reconstruction of a text.

The funny thing is, the original text does a better job of making 'your' point than the bastardized text does...

(If in fact you know what you're point is.)

Why debate 8 points that are clearly not Alinsky's? If you claim Alinsky involved in a great communist conspiracy, why not debate the actual points Alinsky did write. Seems if your claim of him is true, his own words will expose him.
