Does UPS really keep records that long ago? My building normally goes by alphabetical order or by company seniority.Happened years ago
Would arm wrestling have been a better way to settle the issue? Could not have been a worse solution. We had two drivers who were hired on the same date. They flipped a coin to see who got seniority over the other one. The one who lost cried about that for 30 years. At the time they didn't realize what a big deal it was but when you take into consideration everything at UPS is ran by seniority it turned out to be a real big argument starter between those two.

Where's "here"? Being that the occurence is so rare how are you certain of that? Almost everywhere it goes by time of application. It goes by last name here
When the original Art 22.3 jobs were bid there were a lot of people with the same FT starting date.Where's "here"? Being that the occurence is so rare how are you certain of that? Almost everywhere it goes by time of application.
But doesn't that revert back to PT seniority then? When the original Art 22.3 jobs were bid there were a lot of people with the same FT starting date.
Where did you read that in the contract? Eventually that was how some of the cases were handled. But doesn't that revert back to PT seniority then?
I didn't, but that would only make sense to do it that way, though.Where did you read that in the contract? Eventually that was how some of the cases were handled.
I got hired the same day as another guy. He punched in ahead of me.and that's how they determined the seniority.I didn't, but that would only make sense to do it that way, though.
