Why do they even have your cell phone number to start with? Second, your phone was "off" and you show up at your normal time and demand your 8.

"Act of God". They can do pretty much whatever they want with the start time. Nice if they give us advanced notice but don't think they have to.

Where does it say in the contract they can't?
In the Central. you are still guaranteed 8 hours if you show up. But you are not guaranteed to work everyday. Your 40 hour guarantee is void due to snow storm, acts of God....

ARTICLE 12-HOURS OF WORK

Section 1

There shall be a weekly guarantee in each center as follows: In each
classification in each center, the most senior ninety percent (90%)
of employees called or put to work on the first (1st) workday shall
be afforded the opportunity of working forty (40) hours of straight
time work during the week.

The guarantee shall not apply:

(a) to an employee who fails to work a scheduled workday during
the workweek, or is suspended or discharged for just cause;

(b) when there are conditions beyond the Employer’s control such
as fire, flood, destruction, strikes, snow storm, or Acts of God, and
these conditions cause a curtailment of all or part of an Employer’s
operation; or,

(c) the weeks of Christmas, New Years and Fourth of July. Any time
off during this period will be offered by seniority, when business
conditions allow.

Define act of God though because that to me means a spur of the moment thing and not a snow storm the management team knew about coming through days before.

It does say "snow storm"

when there are conditions beyond the Employer’s control such as fire, flood, destruction, strikes, snow storm, or Acts of God

I see acts of God being earthquake, tornados, the building disappearing...
