socialized healthcare

Freebies result in reliance of the government to survive, thus resulting in a government which has a measured control over its citizens, resulting in a restricted amount of freedom, it's all about control tactics and trickery with freebies, the unintelligent mind thinks it's getting something for free, they think the government cares for them, when in actuality the government is actually taking control over their lives, so therefore the unintelligent mind is an idiot who is actually controlled to a certain extent by the government, all while thinking all is well with the world and the freebies.....trickery at its finest

because corporations are benevolent and always put people before profits???

i have no delusions about government OR corporations

But what does corporations have to do with the issue of socialized healthcare? The government is ultimately the one in charge, it's not a multi-demonic conspiracies of government and companies out to get ya, if corporations as you say are disappointing u in some way it all stems back to how much the government is involved in every aspect of a country, no matter where u live in the world, ur gonna have corporations and big companies and capitalism to a certain degree, look at China , communistic but also capitalistic as well, problem with communism and socialism is they only work on paper, the reality is people are human and thus greedy, socialism doesn't work because of this, the only way to at least try and keep things semi fair is to try and have a small government structure

Old n grays pic is right, the problem with America as I see it is thAt people are adopting a mentality of "why do I need to work/wanna work and pay taxes when the government can give me handouts while I just chillax" and there's no incentive to work and pay taxes and personal healthcare and living costs, why would anyone want to anymore, it's like the government wants people to say" if ya can't beat em join em" and have everyone on section 8, Medicaid, unemployed and talking on an Obama phone

And like real brown said, I'm sure socialized healthcare in Canada is great for the legit group who are on hard times and could use the help but the masses that are accumulating bed sores on their couches while they play Xbox never have any incentive to do anything different, socialism keeps this group prisoner in a way, bc they never wanna unlatch from the governments tit and the number of such groups grows exponentially as I type this post , socialism at its finest

i would say thats partly teh corporations mentality. why worry about risk when government will bail us out? why not just pay for more lobbyists; it gives us a great ROI? why pay taxes, government will subsidize us and even give us a negative tax rate.

the welfare system in america isnt enough to live off of anyways.

corporations is what you were implying. capitalism doesnt work, it is creating a collassal environmental catastrophe that will likely cause mankind to go extinct by 2100. it just appears that capitalism has worked, and even then it hasnt. people arent necessarily greedy either, theres alot of corporate propaganda about that. and lots of times government does alot of good. but the only time we will be able to take government back to a local level is after the corporations are dismantled. if u minimize government now, you will have corporate tyranny.

It's much easier to spew rhetoric about "obama" phones and section 8 than it is to have a serious conversation about poverty. It's a complicated topic, but I guess it's pretty simple when you can just blame liberals huh?
In all honesty if I wasnt getting ready for work is chat for a while about it but I dont have an issue with poverty nor do I wish to withhold help from anyone poor and in need, the point I've always tried to make is that the current system in place in this country is not what social assistance was designed for , which is temporary assistance, not long term, generational permanent arraingements with no incentive to ever move forward and better people's lives, this creates an environment where generation after generation never get off social assistance, in other words, my beef isn't with poverty, it's with the poor who make a business decision to STAY poor, I havnt mentioned liberal once in this thread yet I don't think, but since u mentioned it I don't agree with the liberals because they choose not to see this issue for what it really is..... It sounds like your an intelligent person drivein, I mean it no sarcasm, why don't u see it like I do?

Annoy a liberal today. Hit them with facts.
the freedom to die, and the freedom to be bankrupt. keep your freedom.
I am not bankrupt or dead.

You see, I value freedom and have planned my life accordingly.

I own a house with a pool and solar panels. I chose to work at a company that pays well and provides health insurance coverage for my family and also a pension and a 401k plan for my retirement.

And the government didn't have to help me in ANY way.

Amazing what you can do with freedom.

BTW, how's the job hunting going?

the thread was about america's disastrous healthcare system and an article from a former insider famous for trying to sabotage michael moores sicko film.

government paved the roads, gave u your school, and set the regulations in place so UPS wont work you for 16 hour days with even worse vehicle maintenance.

but anyways congrats on your solar panels and pool. it sounds better than the 1,500,000 property and rain where im from.

the government really did help you. america is prosperous partly because it is rich in natural resources and partly because of government policy. but i mean the middle class is diminished so its not that great. i wouldnt be suprised if canada is more prosperous and has a bigger middle class, our economy is based on resources and those jobs usually pay at least $25 or more.

on top of that, in america workers might be afraid to leave their job because it may be providing them healthcare. workers in every other developed country are free to leave their job and not have to worry about having no healthcare.

Get a job. Live a little before you act like you know everything.

Because you act like a spoiled baby who has just had his pacifier taken away.

mommy?

im gonna say it again: solely relying on employers to provide your healthcare may restrict a worker who otherwise wishes to find better work
