I'm sick of these Somali pirates seizing ships and no-ones doing anything about it. Well, this latest ship has an American crew and was flying a US flag.

Here's where Mr Obama can show us what he's made of. Let's send in the Marines and kick some pirate ***. No negotiating, no endless talking, I want to see Obama actually DO something.

Since Somali has no working government, the gangs of pirates are free to do what ever they want, and hide anywhere along their coastline. So an effective military strike on shore would be guess work.
A good idea would be to have the world's navies be seen along their coastline in a good old fashion blockage.

He wont do a thing, Just like Clinton. Only worse.
Sickening thing we (not me) voted in for commander in chief. Maybe if we talk nice to them they will settle down. Yeah that works.
    2012 a long way off.

    Wow, what a story!

While the Obama Administration talked (what they do best!) to the ship owners, the crew re-took the ship! Last I heard, the captain was a hostage in the lifeboat, but with the dawn the hijackers will be looking up at a US destroyer. I hope sharpshooters from the destroyer kills them all.

a few deaths will not stop this .
How about we let them take an oil tanker, let them bring it close to shore, and then it suddenly blows up. The burning oil will stop them from ever trying that again. And the left over oil spill will destroy their coastline for years. Yes it would be a very bad thing for the earth, but what a life lesson it would teach them.

Its simple at this point. The lifeboat is out of gas and not going anywhere. Our navy needs to shoot :censored2: in the lifeboat and sink it. Rescue the American captain and any pirate that wants to surrender. Pay no ransom and put these thieves on trial and make an example out of them.

Totally blow every pirate ship they see out of the water. Rescue captain then blow that one outta the water. Then we will no longer have a pirate problem if they know we will no longer tolerate it. If the USA flexs its muscle, they will back down. Unfortunately I believe we have wimped out.

"World's Navys" ....exactly, send our fair share of security (I wouldn't call it blockage), however any country that has vidal shipping interest ought to be involved in that shipping lane. Expose and call out the countries effected that sit back and do nothing and expect the U.S. to rekindle our role as the "World's Police".

Our Navy responded ASAP, why politicize this incident ?.... Oh yeah, for entertainment purposes. But just for kicks and gigglles, revisit history and comeback with this myth of Democrats being weak militarily.

Shall we blow the lifeboat and the American Capt out of the water? Is that your knee jerk solution ?
This Administration has no plans of backing down militarily any where in the world, if you keep up with the news.....Wkmac for his own entertainment purposes, has been posting link after link of Obama's likeness to Bush when it comes to foreign policy. Right wingers are secertly salivating this unpopular but neccessary repair of Bush's blunders and should just stop hiding behind closet doors....Bring on 2012.....

Signal the "Batman", sonar signal "Aquaman".....lets just pluck the Capt out of the lifeboat and turn the Somalians into's that simple !!!!

Seriously Tooner, these are not your stero-typical Pirate ships with Skull-and-cross bone sails sitting on tall masts, and grey-beard Capt's with eye patches, wooden legs and a hook for a hand, running around the deck drinking rum, chasing wenches."Arrg"
How are you to determine who are the pirates and who is the commericial fisherman or father and son outing....How much collateral damage is acceptable to you.

These ships make enough money to hire privately heavily armed security personal without looking for expense gov't military welfare for escorts against small bands of criminals with no sophisticated weapons. The Earth is composed of 70% water surface, the navy can't be everywhere.

    Same Stuff, Different Day...

Maybe one day our new Commander In Chief may consider cracking open a history book. 200 years ago our brand new little country's navy attacked Tripoli and the Barbary pirates, breaking up the international blackmail and terrorism they had going on in the Mediterranean Sea. We kicked their *****e$. We had to because we knew even back then that diplomacy would have been a useless option as George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson first tried dealing reasonably with them.

The Marine Corp Hymn "From the Halls of Montezuma..." pays tribute to this conflict.

    Excellent Post Sammie
I couldnt rep you again, darn.
I also kinda thought this would be fodder for our well trained Navy Seals. Kinda like practice for them.

When I saw you asking "Why politicize" this incident, I almost fell out of my chair from laughing so hard.
Sorta like the pot calling the small frying pan black.
    Now that's funny ...

and then you start politicizing yourself.

You're always entertaining ... keep it up.
