Something every Fedex Express worker should read

I tried to post the link to the 1996 faa reauthorization conference report, but for some reason the link would not work. Anyway, if you want to read it just google 1996 faa reauthorization, Fritz Hollings, and Fedex. Then click on congressional record.

Ted Kennedy called it the lowest form of legislation he'd ever seen. The clause favorable to FedEx was literally inserted into the bill at the last minute. Snidely Whiplash would be proud of Fred.

Seems like both the Senate and the House would be up in arms about FedEx calling this a bailout. If people are actually calling their Senators and Congress men and women as a result of the brownbailout ads I wonder if they are getting a response that this isn't actually any kind of bailout.

I was able to pull up the senate floor filibuster and the arguments Kennedy was making against placing Fedex drivers under the RLA. Pretty interesting stuff. Too bad the link won't work.

The irony is that this has always been a special deal for FedEx. In effect, it is a FedEx bailout because it is legislation that benefits only ONE company....FedEx. Why aren't the Libertarians and Tea-Baggers attacking Fred for this monumental special interest scam? And it's been happening since 1973!!

I'm going to push this topic back up to the top, because I think the link I provided is very important information. I know people are generally lazy and don't want to do much reading, but if you look at the arguments made, it should be obvious to even a Fedex defender that this whole express carrier language being placed in the 1996 bill was sneaky to say the least. How is it that the senate can pass a bill without the Fedex special deal and the House can pass a bill without it, then they go to conference and it i placed in it by one of the 10 conferees? That's the way it was done in 1996

Leave something real sneaky to a real weasel like Smith.

Fred is a weasel made of Teflon, covered with silicone spray, and then coated in Vaseline. Nothing can stick to him for long and he can crawl into almost any hole.
Then you might want to sleep with your back against the wall.

Is your name Stash Lipton or something? Does the tea you drink allow you to see Russia from your front porch too?

I don't drink tea. I throw it in the harbor.

As far as I'm concerned, Palin is a cheerleader.

Today's Republicans are Euro-style Socialists. Today's Democrats are Marxists.

Unless we return to America's founding principles, we will soon lose what little liberty we have left.

You sound Libertarian, but to be sure, here's a quiz.

A. Your son or daughter is a raging psychotic and needs to be institutionalized. That would cost $20,000 per month out of your pocket, or nothing if they are committed to a state institution. Which do you pick as a fine liberty-loving, Free Market true American?

B. Your house is burning down. The fire department is there in 2 minutes, ready to douse the flames and save your house.
Do you:
a. Let the house burn to the ground because the fire department is part of an oppressive government dedicated to depriving you of your liberty?

b. Let the fire department do their job and then send you a $5,000 bill for their services?

c. Shut-up and let them do their job?

Be honest, and don't let your Earl Grey seep out, OK?
