I can't find the proper venue to ask this question so I thought I would ask here.

I can't seem to get customer service to understand that the local USPS facility is closed. The building got damaged by a bit of bad weather.

Each person I have talked to said they would have information if there was a problem at this facility.

I am trying to find out how things being shipped to this town is going to be handled.

The only think I get from the call center is that they are not answering the phone and I could go to the facility. I have been to the facility, it is severely damaged, there is no one to talk to there.

How do I explain this to customer service?

Anyone know how things are handled from a customer point of view when a UPS hub is destroyed by weather? Will another hub take over the area? The nearest one is about 45 miles away.

Just keep checking your tracking number daily. Your package will arrive, but delayed by a day or 2.

Actually we don't have anything in route yet. I called and stopped a shipment from a manufacturer till I understand what will happen. We have another inventory order we have delayed that would have been placed today but are holding off on it as well.

I normally have 3-6 shipments coming in each week, all either prototypes or inventory. Quite a few merchants here have been as unsuccessful at getting information as well.

We are trying to figure out if another hub will take over this area of is this area is going to have problems for awhile.

Maybe things just get re-routed, we have no idea and no one at customer service seems to know what happens. Perhaps customer service does not have a need to know but it was confusing to us that they didn't even know that the hub was destroyed.

We might go Fed-Ex until we get understand how this area is going to be handled but that is not very convienient. The closest Fed-Ex facility if about 60 miles away.

That is who I have been talking to. :(

Is there another way to talk to someone besides Customer Service in India?

Well, they did speak English.

I am just making a joke about our lousy customer service on the 800 number, I would try getting in touch with the next closest terminal to where you re located. If that doesn't work, maybe try to contact the local Teamsters hall. They may have a number for someone that will help you. Most likely UPS will divert any volume that would normally go thru that terminal to the closest one until they can secure another temporary location to take its place. We normally do not let things get delayed more than a couple days unless the entire area is closed down!! Thats Logistics!!

Thanks for the help. I tried to get contact information for the next closest terminal but they refused and do not want to contact them themselves as they have not determined there is a problem at the local terminal. Is there a way to find the number for that terminal. The next closest terminal is in Stillwater Oklahoma. The terminal that got destroyed is the Ponca City Oklahoma terminal.

I see your problem with customer service;
USPS = United States Postal Service

Yes. Drive to a center. But, I could be wrong, it sounds like you are dealing in "what if's". I think that would be a hard question for anyone, but socks, to answer.

When you call you have to ask to speak to John Wayne or Clint Eastwood. Alot of these Indians adopt American sounding names and if they have adopted these names I'd bet they a cooler than the other side of the pillow.
