Haven't moved into the new house as of yet. House costing 120k and we're closing in a week. Taxes are supposed to be from $1,321.37 To $1,713.95. No official state tax, though the sales tax for St Lucie county is, I believe, 6.5%, though we hardly shop in this county. Martin county, where we do most of our shopping has a tax rate of 6.5%, as well. Even though there is searing heat and humidity, I have to say that I love this state.
I don't think I would be this "secure/content" in life, had I stayed in NYC. By the way, when I left NYC, I left most of it there.
