Fed Ex get a good 1/4 based on business moving from UPS to Fed Ex in the pre ratification time frame.
The stock market rewards us by giving UPS a green day.
Love it...don't understand it...but I love it.

I love it too. Thanks FDX!

It will really be interesting to see if FDX will be able to show positive ground volume growth and revenue growth in their first quarter '03. They will have to beat these numbers, without the benefit of the threat of a UPS strike.

IT'S REALY SIMPLE, FED-EX SUCKS AND CAN'T GET BUSINESS WITHOUT PUTTIN DOWN UPS.I TOLD ALL MY CUSTOMERS TO ASK THE FED-EX GROUND DRIVER WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS "INEVITABLE UPS STRIKE" THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN, HE DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE AN ANSWER AND SURE AS HELL DOESN'T TALK A WHOLE LOT OF TRASH ANYMORE. UPS REALY DOESN'T APPRECIATE HOW WE DRIVERS TAKE CARE OF OUR PEOPLE AND KEEP THEM LOYAL TO BIG BROWN.

Yea, we had a nice bounce today, esp considering
how the market did. The real question however is
will UPS make its numbers this quarter? If FDX
is stealing so much ground volume, what will our
results look like. If they aren't up to par, you
can expect to see a quick 10% price drop in UPS stock.

I am not sure a temporary 150K packages per day was very much. I've heard UPS has gotten most of that back already, plus a seasonal pickup. I look for making our numbers this 1/4, and better guidance for the 4th.

Go UPS!

peacock71,
I agree with you, but I always say...NEVER
underestimate your competition. Who would have
thought that FDX would be where it is now with
their ground? A year ago, everyone was saying
that their ground would fail. It hasn't yet!
