We have cover/split drivers-- full time without a bid route. (I took the over today, first day off since last year)

Casuals are peak temp hires

Swing Driver is Ft driving without a bid route meaning you get to cover for any bid driver that takes vacation/day off. Which means you will be learning 15+ routes. Odds are you will be doing this for a long time till you manage to win a crappy route through bids.

First two years are the hardest because every new route means
you are going out blind. On more complex routes you might get a on-road sup for the day. Come in early on these days with a map and a smart phone to give yourself a chance. Helps by visualizing the trace.
