Does anyone know if the Orion technology was reviewed with the IBT and if so what was agreed to? Was it agreed that this technology calls for left hand turns and residential backing everything that is contrary to our past training? If there was a meeting how can I get a copy of the minutes. If it exist I am sure it will make for interesting reading. All comments and information would be greatly appreciated.

Do Ford, GM or Chrysler sit down with the UAW to discuss technological changes to their operations?

They do if they have contractual language in their collective bargaining agreement as we do in Article 6, Sec 4 of the National Master.

It might help if you get a contract and read it

My guess would be that they don't feel that it qualifies under the definition of technological change.

It is pretty obvious. Don't you think the minutes of that meeting would be interesting?

Why don't you call your local that you get along with so well? They should set you straight.

Called they dont know? Do you know? I don't think they met at all?

It definitely would tell a tale. If they never met at all. Does the phrase "bought and paid for" come to mind?

I'm not authorized to discuss these things on Brown Café.

Pardon my ignorance, but is it the Union's place to tell the Company how to run their business?

Now that is a funny one. You are not authorized to talk on an anonymous site? Wow!

ORION is not fully been implemented, from what I understand, it is going to be used in conjunction with that Heads UP display program that they have.

Question has it been reviewed with the IBT?

I bet your right. I mean hell they think locals shouldn't have a right to autonomy and members shouldn't have the right to vote. So why would this issue be any different? Maybe they will get interested when UPS starts their robotic technology
