It will be just a slap on the hand. They will be back to work by Monday

I can't believe UPS is that stupid...they took a beating on national news about not getting packages delivered on time before Xmas. Now they first fire 1 driver on a stupid infraction, then fire 250 drivers or at least put them on working termination...then fire 20 drivers...Is there any one at Corporate UPS have any idea what is going on. New York Maspeth and NY state congressmen are rallying around the drivers. Soon this will make national news and once again UPS will get another black eye from all this. News media and the population in general love David and Goliath scenarios and this is a perfect example.

I am tired of hearing about the "real world", aka the work place without unions. In the real world people have no leverage against greedy execs who will do anything for another buck. Thus, when the execs take away benefits and reduce wages - things that may have been there when the person first hired on with company- there is no leverage for the individuals whose lives have been turned upside down to say, "Hey! This isn't what we agreed to when I started here. We need to talk about this, or you will suffer the repercussions. " And the retort is, "Well, there are plenty others who will take the job, so if you don't like it then quit."

As a part of society businesses should give more consideration to things other than a record quarter in profits; they will not go bankrupt if they do so. Short of government intervention, unions are the solution.
No disrespect but this is the real world. The general public doesn't have the sympathy for union like they did in the past. We as a union need to make smart decisions in this real world in order to protect the members.

This means making rational decisions that are also calculated. Do you this Liam acted rational or was calculating anything that day?

Now we are in a bad position and it's about to get real public very soon in this real world. Kinda scary.

Someone created an account a long time ago but didn't use it then suddenly comes in posting like that. And comments about drivers just getting home from work yet he has been here posting all day.

The general public that sees and knows their daily UPS driver will mostly support him but others who don't understand how things are at UPS will probably just say fire them all.

There are those who are quite familiar with how things are at UPS who will probably say just fire them all.

very WRONG. "General public" dosent have a clue about " how things are" at ups. It's the working man vs the Goliath company that wrongs them. Guess what. Public on our side
