The three things that you hate and three things that you love about peak

I hate the people that have to put the dog in the cellar before they sign
I love that they pull off a lot of commercial stops
I hate looking for house numbers in the dark
I love it that my preloader is finally getting it
I hate making people pay brokerage charges to get their Christmas gift.
I love being Santa

This is my first peak as a loader. I love the 3 hours of mayhem at the end of the sort. I love the endless carts of bulk I have to load after the belts are done being toted. I love the 12 hour Mondays. I love how the managers come by at hour 10 asking if people want to double shift. I love the endless sea of small sort bags that make it onto the belt. I love the amount of taxes that are being taken out of my paycheck for working excessive OT. Boo taxman, boooooooo...........I love all of it!!!!

I love sleeping past my 6:30 AM wake-up call
I love making my daughters breakfast, before they head off to college or work
I love reading the newspaper....the whole paper in the morning

HOWEVER......
I do miss my friends (co-workers), at UPS......and the good folks on my route...........

I love that I am not sweating in a 120 degree truck.
I hate freezing in the truck.

I love that management is not breathing down my neck about being over 9.5
I hate working day in and day out over 9.5

I love that it isn't a problem to leave an irreg on the slide if I want to...
I hate that they bring out the second half of my day around noon along with the irreg I left on slide.

I hate subcontractors.

I love seeing management actually having to earn their paycheck.

I hate management who screw up peak and cost us high volume CPU accounts.

I love management who are competent and shine during peak (yes, it sometimes happens).

I love seeing a yard full of trailers and knowing I won't be touching one of those packages.

I hate that I don't have any customers to give me tips ( the bottles of scotch were nice).

I love that I won't be working Christmas Eve, or even Eve of Christmas Eve. Gotta love peak in Feeders.

I love seeing management attempt to shift trailers!

I hate all the 53 footers in a yard designed for pups.

I love that I'm on the clock right now, and I'm doing what I'm supposed to do!

I can't think of anything else I hate right now, I don't hate Christmas anymore.

Peak in Feeders is pretty sweet!

Hate customers who order a box that weights 140lbs , i dropped at garage and they ask me to bring it in the house for them.

Love having a helper so i get a break

Hate:
1. Yard full of Gypsy 53 ftrs, nowhere to put anything.
2. Temps are assigned all the good jobs.
3. Getting stuck with a rental shifter.

Love:
1. The noise, the excitement, the teamwork to get it all done. Hell it's Peak at UPS, it's supposed to be like this!
2. Not having to deliver all those irregs and over 70s. OMG, it wasn't that bad when I delivered and that wasn't too long ago.
3. Someone already said it, but I love not working Christmas Eve.

1) I love working with some of the best people I've ever met; the pain, the aggravation, this is why I come to work every day and will never miss a day: the preloaders and the drivers.
2) I love that, for one preloader in particular, all the bulk stops have been cut off their trucks, and peak for them is probably the easiest time of the year (so far); they deserve it for all the hell they put up with during the other eleven months of the year.
3) I love the fact that, because the workload is so heavy building wide, some actual responsibility is delegated to me and I can make logical, rational choices; not according to a number on a sheet, but in accordance with the actual reality of the situation.

I hate very few things in life, so I will use "dislike" hehe ...

1) I dislike SurePost.
2) I dislike that I have to pick up the never ending pile of slack from some of my fellow supervisors.
3) I dislike some of the seasonal hires who have the attitude of "I don't want a job after peak, so I don't really have to do anything you say."

1. that I hardly ever have to get out of the car.
2. the Helper DIAD isn't attached to the the car.
3. if you have a bad day you can blame your helper for it.

Love getting my 8 hrs by 9 or 10 am and going home if I want to.

Hate getting Christmas packages that have no labels or addys on them
Love it when we get the addys for those packages and get them delivered.

Hate the long hours, but

When I was in my peak I could go all night.
My body was a lot tighter.
And I actually thought about sex all the time.


Now that my peak is over all I want to do is eat chips and drink beer.
If I get some every two weeks I'm happy.
I actually go to bed early to avoid action because I'm so tired.

Life was better when I was at my peak.

Pretty much the same for me, except that post office thing.Oh and I like the tips. I'm up $200 and we haven't really started yet.
