Things I've Missed Out On, Because I'm a UPS'er.

I've become a runner/gunner again so on the days I get my girls, we'll have a bit of extra time together. This has been working fine, and mgmt has been quite accommodating, but there are certain things, as a UPS'er I will have to miss. Today was one of those days. I missed my 10 year olds Honor Roll assembly. I would have loved to be there, but alas, it was at 9am, and no matter how fast i move in the pkg car, I can't make an event at that time.

My question is; What are some of the things you've missed out on, due to being a UPS'er? It doesn't have to be child related. What is some of the stuff you've missed out on?

My kids are only 5 and 2 but I already put in my personal day request for their graduations from high school. You should have planned ahead. Nothing will keep me from those.

ON the brighter side, just think, you would have had more children with a normal job !

Nobody lives without healthcare, oh gee, sorry I forgot, there is 1 country that doesn't.
Do an Internet search for: EMTALA

Otherwise known as: The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act of 1986.

And read until you emerge from the socialist fog.

No excuses to miss those--that's why we have personal days.

I was fortunate in that I was able to make most of my kids' activities. My route is in the city and I would park the PC and take my lunch at the baseball/softball/soccer/football field. If there was an evening event that I wanted to get done early to make I would request a Code 5 (that was back when Code 5's were no big deal). The kids understood and appreciated those events that I was able to make.
