What has it been like over a the last few years seeing crime/murder rates skyrocket there?

What has UPS done to protect you guys?

I imagine there are just blocks upon blocks that are will call only.

Some routes (the projects) have personal security in my city. Bad because you are in a neighborhood that requires a freaking armed guard to escort you. Good because he is your personal GPS.

My city was top 25 murder rate per capa and also top for violent crime.... Ups didn't care and I spent many of nights delivering the most dangerous areas in my city. A few of Our guys got robbed and beat up pretty bad. I spent lots of my youth hanging with some bad apples in bad areas so I'm assuming the way I carry my self doesn't set off easy target flags. Buts Thanks ups for looking out for my safety!!

Ironic that many folks voted for our prez thinking he would focus on minority problems. Seven years later, things are much worst in areas like Chicago, including race relationships. Complete and total fail on Obama's part. This is his liberal legacy.

It's not as bad as you think where I'm at. For the most part if you don't mess with them they don't mess with you.

they shoot but if you throw the package at them you'll have a 3 second window to run through an alley or something.

I couldn't imagine delivering or living in some of these areas you guys talk about. I've been broke before but even in the area I was living it wasn't anything like what some of you portray as broke areas of cities. Why don't people move out of these areas, even if it means more rural, if you're broke in the city, you can be broke in the country also.

Why don't people move out of these areas, even if it means more rural, if you're broke in the city, you can be broke in the country also.

How much free housing is there in the country?

cheap houses, family, resources, the houses are usually owned by older people who've been living there for years and have no intentions of moving. the younger generation usually moves out from their parents or grandparents homes into the apartments because they're 10x cheaper than anywhere else. NOBODY moves to Chicago unless its north Chicago.

Seems like when I'm delivering in the ghetto areas it's usually big 70" tvs...weird...a driver in Oakland ca was pistol whipped and robbed twice in one month...can't deliver after 5pm there now

No, I didn't forget at all. Many, many, white's- voted for Obama out of some sort of guilt and to show they were not racist to the world. Many of them also believed that somehow he would work to bring us together and to help the minority communities. Of course, we now know he made things much worst.
