We are still waiting on your answer.
Don't spin it.
Don't tap dance around it.
Don't go off on a tangent.
Don't answer a question with a question.

Simply give us a straight answer. Can you do that?
Thanks.

Good luck, you'll be waiting for the rest of your life.

It is called the economy is failing, the volume is down, and management is out to get us, and fire some people to lighten the manning, to respond to the volume which will be down for the rest of the year

Here is my response.

The "we" I refered to would be the readers of this forum that feel like I do. Sorry if I confused you.

You don't know that I'm not following the contract. In your infinite wisdom you just assumed that. It is obvious, based on other posts from other people that the company is not following the contract. The "three ring" circus that occurs at panel and deadlock is a travesty of justice and you know it. The company is playing the contract like a "second hand fiddle". I have seen the "hand shaking", "back patting" and "bottom petting" that occurs at panel and deadlock. It's all a party for everyone except the grievant who stands to lose substantially. Behavior of this nature would never occur in a real court of law. I have been told, on more than one occasion, that going to panel or deadlock is "....the throw of the dice". You might win, you might not....it all depends on if they feel like "messing" with you, if you are liked, not liked or if there is a deal to be made and the grievant ends up being a sacrifice for someone else.
It shouldn't be this way. The contract is written in black and white. The wording doesn't magically change when you're sitting at the table at panel or deadlock.

Your turn.

I can hear the tap dancing now.

That part of the story may not be right. A ups management person representing that facility would have the authority to have the BA escorted off. In fact I heard from feeder drivers in my area that the BA's were escorted off property.

I've seen it done a few time over the years its a move that usually does not go over well for the management person.

Another rumor was that the trenj drivers filed 300 grievances on good friday in some kind of protest.

This will probably be an unpopular post, but after all the drama year after year, why doesn't UPS just dump the teamsters and make offers to the productive workers and get rid of the slackers? Fill the rest of the open spots from there. The Teamsters need UPS a lot more then UPS needs the Teamsters. UPS could save tons of money on grievences, labor negotiations, having to keep lazy seniority workers around, etc.

Because Teamsters would strike, and there would be huge production interuptions costing UPS millions as shippers flocked to FedEx.

The bad part of it is that he is serious.

And that folks is why this company is in serious trouble. Guys like this guy in charge of changing this company to what we are seeing today. I can not wait to see what they will try to do to it in the years to come.

I figure with his deductive reasoning and skills, he is probably in charge of the Safety "learn or go" campain.

Actually it was a serious question, and not meant to stir up trouble. If there is this much trouble all the time, why does UPS keep the Teamsters around? What do the Teamsters provide UPS that makes up for having to cater to SOME lazy workers that have high seniority? Why not hire their own employees that won't threaten to strike? In my years at UPS, I was never in the union or management so I really don't have much direct experience with union issues.

Actually I've been out of UPS for a little over two years. I just hang around to see the rest of the TSG ship sink and keep up on what's going on since I have stock and a partial retirement coming from the company. :happy2:

Trick I'm afraid you're being a little evasive on this answer. Could you list the ones that you had solicited prior to your post that chose you as their spokes person when you made the "We" comment.

Thanks ever so much.

I'm sorry trick but if you had read my response you would have seen that I referenced your previous responses to other posters here. You are quick to advocate an action outside the grievance process. When you do so you are in fact suggesting actions be taken outside the contract. No need for me to know what you do when you are on the job, little as it may be. :peaceful:

Tie, are you sure you're "recovering"? I haven't seen you at any of the meetings.
