"Trip" or "route"?

Were you an educational transfer, one of those nearly mythical full-time driver transfers or are you a member of management? Just curious. -Rocky

None of the above. I was a FT driver who moved for purely personal reasons. Tried SOOOO hard to get transferred but that truly is a myth, it just can't be done. So I started back at the bottom but luckily promotions to FT happen quickly here.

It's about half and half here in Philly. Most of the older drivers say "trip" and the newer ones say "route".

Hey, I also worked in the Metro Philly district. Seems like the use of "trip" is unique to that area. We all said it in my bldg, even the newbies.

Thanks to all for your input on this! :)

That's incredible! Give us more details like number of stops, p/u's, and what the planned day came back as.

98 stops 10 pickups

15 nda stops spread out over 4 counties (large counties)

had 95 miles on the car at my last nda del.

planned over 12 hours and I was a few clicks under-allowed

Here in Edmonton Canada, it's either a "run" or a "route". Trips are what we took in "high" school.
Here in the big smoke, its area, like over9 did my area friday..
a route sounds like you get the same stops every day
like a milkman or paperboy.
Trip is if you leave the bldg, come back and go out again
and its coded into the diad as trip.
