Turn On/Off DIAD sound

How do you do it? Sometimes I cover a route and the DIAD board seems to never have any sound. I like to hear the sound so I know if I scanned a package or if it's a signature required, etc etc.

Could usually get a IV board beeping again by tapping it on a hard surface a few times. Never had that issue with a V.

That's exactly what I meant. Was hoping for liberal interpretation. Didn't want to recommend "slamming" it and have some new guy take it as "go ahead, suplex your board."

Dropped a V in a foot of water when I first started driving; the sound stayed off for a few hours and suddenly came back when I dropped it out of the truck later that day

Don't ever do this unless you're at a stop around radioactive materials. Otherwise you're begging for discipline if they try to send you a message or OCA.

Hospitals and blasting zones you usually need to turn off radio. Those few exceptions are why there is an option to turn it off. You wouldn't be allowed to do so otherwise. Every time you turn it off it will show on a report so only use in areas where you are supposed to do so.

Will contact ASAP and never reply.After a few days,or weeks if they are persistent,the messages mysteriously stop.
