All I've heard since November 6 is companies laying off people and cutting the hours of the people they don't lay off.
I'm not sure we've seen the worst of it yet.

It's Christmas/Holidays and haven't we gone over this year after year? Unemployment always declines during the holidays with the temp/part-time work necessities. Basics. Fortunately, this Christmas, sales/revenues are projected to be higher than originally forecast, so the unemployment rate would likely follow suit and be slightly lower. That isn't a bad thing, but it's jmo a fairly meaningless gauge prior to late winter.

I have no great love for either political party that are both filled with power hungry idiots. Yes (bbsam and TOS) even the Republicans.
I am tired of all the big problems the country faces and the Politicians living their lives like the Queen of England.
Not a real big fan of Warren Buffet --but have any of you seen the solution he has proposed to fix the power hungry politicians ??---if not I will give you the info after Thanksgiving.
One thing for sure --I believe the more money the government takes from us --the more they waste---I am sure the money I have earned --with the budget constraints I live by --my money is better controlled and spent by me.
Back to a very old Question ----What exactly is the "fair share" we all should be paying ??---and should the UPS driver that WORKS all the overtime he or she can --pay more than the UPS driver that takes as many RDO'S and eight only days as he can get away with ???
Just a microcosm of the workers vs the skaters or takers.
Has America finally come down to --the harder you work--the more you are punished ??

"....robbing Peter to pay Paul....", at some point Peter is gonna get tired of being robbed and will decide he wants to be like Paul who stands there with his hand stuck out waiting for the next government hand out.
This is why socialism (marxism) doesn't work.
Is there such a word as "obamaism"?...............not yet but soon to come.

I couldn't agree more and as for fair share, I doubt anyone else here would like what I have to say in regards to that solution but let's just say it means joining 2/3rds of the planet and starving Leviathan to death and shifting wealth back down and across a wider spectrum. Atlas does need to shrug but the Atlas I speak of is one the 2 political narratives never saw coming nor wants it to awaken from it's sleep!
And that Atlas is going to shrug, it's just a matter of time. It's actually already started.

This would only work if all 50 states amended their unemployment compensation laws to include partial payments to supplement the difference between their former wages and their new wages. CT calls this "work share" and it is a "win-win" for all involved.
