The International Brotherhood of Teamsters said the contract, which expires July 31, 2013, adds more than 9,900 new members to its rolls and raises wages by $4.35 an hour; lowers employee health-care premium costs; institutes overtime pay for work exceeding 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week; allows UPS freight employees to lock in their current pension benefits; and reduces the cost of health insurance for most retired workers.

  2. We're mortgaging the future of this business to unions. All you have to do is follow the history of steel, rubber, automotive and airlines. Name one that's had a good history with unions. It's time unions woke up to the fact that we operate in a GLOBAL market. Their short term, live for today mentality hasn't worked yet and never will.
