I had some friends that did roofing and siding. Wages went from over $20 bucks a hour in the late 1990's to now around $14 present day. All imports now willing to take a lot less.

With roofing, you really do usually get what you pay for. Anyone with a pickup, a ladder and a hammer can claim to be a roofer, but people who shop for just the lowest price usually regret it. We have the save thing here too, but the good contractors are always in short supply.
