UPS agrees to settle sexual harassment suit brought by a former employee in Benicia - Times-Herald

UPS Freight has agreed to pay $120,000 to settle a sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit brought by a former Benicia employee, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced this week.

The global shipping company also agreed to provide training to management and human resources officials who fired Nijem less than a week after she reported she was being verbally harassed by her male boss at Overnite Transportation, Inc. Atlanta-based United Parcel Service acquired Overnite in 2005.

Say it ain't so! UPS has a ZERO policy on sexual harassment and violence in the work place and yet they tend to ignore the complaints? Now just this one complaint cost them over $120,000 for something that should have been addressed immediately!
