UPS Freight now features five Chicago-area facilities

UPS Freight (NYSE: UPS) today announced the addition of a new facility in Franklin Park. The 28,000 square-foot building features 66 docks for the loading and unloading of less-than-truckload (LTL) freight. The Franklin Park location complements nearby UPS Freight centers in Aurora, Chicago, Palatine and South Holland.

“Business growth in the greater Chicago area has driven demand for UPS Freight’s capabilities,” Kevin Hartman, President of UPS Freight’s Central Region. “This new building addresses immediate needs and positions us for the continued expansion of our customers’ businesses.”

This facility loads and unloads LTL freight. It processes freight shipments from around the U.S. and provides pickup and delivery services to customers throughout the greater Chicago area.

The building at 11201 Irving Park Road houses roughly 90 UPS Freight employees including truck drivers, dock workers, administrative and management workers. The facility sits on a five-acre lot that includes staging for tractor trailers and employee parking.
