UPS gets EPA grant for two projects - Atlanta Business Chronicle

United Parcel Service Inc. won $474,000 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to cut the amount of particulate matter generated by diesel engines at the company’s Worldport global all-points air hub in Louisville, Ky.

Atlanta-based UPS (NYSE: UPS) said the funding will be given to the Kentucky Clean Fuels Coalition, which will distribute it to UPS Airlines. The grant will pay for the replacement of diesel engines in ground support cargo tugs and the extension of ground electricity to parked aircraft.
