I used to think this wreath laying was a great thing to honor Veterans but my brother-in-law who at that time was Commander of the local VFW pointed out to me that each wreath costs 10 or 15 dollars depending on who is selling them. Around hear it is the Civil Air Patrol for $15. If everyone took that 15 bucks and donated it to the Salvation Army, VFW or American legion it would go a LONG way toward helping living Veterans or others. Our local Veterans cemetery has over 5,000 graves in it already (its fairly new) and has been completely covered with wreaths at Christmas time for 5 or 6 years now. That's $75,000 a year that could be helping living Veterans instead of just being used to make a cemetery look good for Christmas. They are on display for only about 6 weeks and are then trashed
