UPS may shift 929 jobs from Paramus to Passaic County - The Record United Parcel Service plans to close its 929-employee Paramus data center, but said it will keep the jobs in New Jersey after receiving approval of more than $6.4 million in state incentives. New Jersey, like other states, has awarded hundreds of millions of dollars in incentives over the past several years to add and retain jobs. In a written application to the EDA, the company said it offered cost comparisons that it said showed reasons to move the centers to New York or to Georgia. The average salary of the retained jobs is $122,000. Authority staff estimated the net benefit of the award to the state at $258.2 million.
