UPS, Nye negotiating new distribution site - Pahrump Valley Times
United Parcel Service, a company that bills itself as "the tightest ship in the shipping business," may have temporarily run aground in Pahrump.
The company was first served a cease and desist order June 10 for locating a new distribution yard on Blagg Road in violation of county zoning codes. But after a lack of success in finding an alternate location without the expense of paving a parking lot, UPS and the Nye County Planning Department could be close to a solution: rezoning the existing site.
The center is a distribution point for several UPS trucks that serve Pahrump.
Lee Fairbourn, UPS real estate manager, said his company is continuing to work with the planning department to resolve the problem.
