I'm curious to what everyone thinks about this development. The timing near peak makes me wonder how UPS will handle this.

From my understanding it is purely symbolic because the fall under the railway act and can not strike without mediators approval. But it would be a PR black eye on them

I doubt it will come to a strike. It's a lot harder to strike as pilots than it would as package car drivers. The vote will certainly make some of those at the top a little nervous and more open to negotiations though.

I'm sure they're well aware of it. That's why the pilots got such a good deal. They knew what was coming if they didn't settle it.

They're never going to settle in the pilots favor. They're going to try and get the best deal they can without giving away too much, just like with any contract negotiation.

Teamsters do owe the pilots for them supporting us in our strike. Makes H look better at no cost since the government won't let the pilots walk out.

FedEx pilots have always made more. They operate more aircraft that are classified as "Heavy" than we do.

They top out close to 180k. I think when you make that much you can sit on your hands for a little bit.
