Most companies would drool over a 15% net profit margin.

That 45% they might make on a parcel you then have to pay royalties on. You're simple taco stand doesn't have the overhead a ups store would. A store needs typically about $800 in sales a day just to break even. The fact is that a ups stores biggest competitor is ups itself makes it one hell of an expensive drop box. It's a very costly franchise.

UPS wants out of the customer counter business.
