UPS to increase presence in the Philippines - Balita
Logistics provider United Parcel Service (UPS) announced that it will be increasing its presence in the Philippines despite the pullout of its regional hub in Clark Field, Pampanga late last year.
UPS was able to do this by transforming its hub into a business processing outsourcing unit that supports the logistics needs of its affiliates in the Asia-Pacific region, UPS general manager for shared services Rolly Nierva said.
“We now employ around 600 people and the facility serves as the back office of UPS in the region,” he added.
The UPS official further stressed that UPS was able to maintain the number of grants that it gives to several non-government organizations in the country.
