Postal Service finds Columbus woman's missing ashes
Barbara Kirkendall’s ashes are finally with her family.
Postal carriers delivered the previously missing package to her Far East Side home this morning. For family members, the agonizing wait came to a swift end — some hadn’t even changed out of their pajamas by the time Kirkendall’s remains arrived.
It seems her journey led her from Cleveland, where she was cremated, to Columbus — and then, mistakenly, to a processing facility in Michigan. The package was discovered early this morning.
