Klein, not a bad idea. Take a couple of weeks vacation, visit beautiful Canada and get your eyes done. I might hit you up next spring for any new added details. Gotta love that exchange rate.

Something tells me you`re place to stay will be a well in the basement where you`ll be told to rub lotion on your skin or you`ll get the hose again.

Hey sure ! You can use that website to get a free brochure , too, has a special link for our american friends, (since they do travel here for good and inexpensive service). Even a map how to get here..:)
And, for the fun of it, I'll take you to a walk in clinic, get viagra (needs perscription) - have never done that before, honestly...
But, it's half the price here too, and you can take it back with you, if you want.
Then you can report about our long line ups, but I bet right now, I'm in and out in 15-25 minutes. (Thats a random medical walk in clinic).

And actually the exchange rate isn't as good as it once was... the US buck was always 30% higher then ours.... now only 8%.
By next yr, our dollar should be higher then yours again.

Not another Canadian serial killer?:wink2:

Nope, city water, and no guns in the house as every lawful Canadian can't have a handgun (rifles for hunting), but I don't have that, either.

She'll be in good hands, maybe do an exchange vacation with her... I get a week there to stay..
She would love the Canadian Rockies here, and the natural moutain hotsprings pools, plus the wildlife to watch , photograph, etc.

She knows, it's beautiful !

ya guys the 2000$ per eye isnt lowball. the 1000$ per eye is the lowball guy with old equip. this place is a national chain and the specific office has 30,000 procedures.

im not asking where to get the cheapest price, ive already found a reputable doctor with prices within the nat'l average. im trying to find out if i can use any benies to help pay for it.

do we have a tax emempt medical savings account option? again the tax savings is about 25% off the top!

The link I sent you earlier is a national chain too, well Canadian National, pick any city you are close to, or want to visit, maybe by DS ?
Get a brochure, check out the site, save some money....

(for me to fly to Los Angelas for example is $150 one way)... it's not expensive.
And , I don't even have to pay that, because I have tons of airmiles saved up. I just pay taxes to fly.

Klein.here we would have to pay 15% pst and gst on that,,,right?
that would boost the cost to about $575.00 an eye.Being US citzens any takers could probobly get that tax back as a rebate.
I didn't even know it was that cheap here...a real eye opener...
hmmm new cheap fridge or right eye...new stainless steel bottom freezer or both eyes....we really do need a fridge...

Nope, if you followed the link, it's 100% tax free, actually tax deductable for Canadians.
NO GST , no Sales tax. It's a medical procedure, doesn't follow under taxes, kinda like the general food group.
What are they selling you ? They are not selling you an eye or 2 ! LOL
So, no sales tax.... and no GST because it's medical.

Ireland has Euros ? And the rest of GB has pounds ?

yes your right .the euro is worth 0.85 sterling
and approx 1 euro is 1.40 against the dollar

Wow ! I learned something new today. I didn't know Ireland gave up thier pounds as currency. Good for you, join the rest of Europe !
UK would have had it too, if it wasn't for that iron lady Thatcher back then.
Makes it hard for trade with the Continent, due to currency exchange rates, and losing value with each trade. Also, London is no longer the European Financial Capital, since.

Here's an interesting link to stories about people who went on their vision quests(pun intented) and had bad results with laser eye surgery

http://www.lifeafterlasik.com/patients.htm

Cases gone wrong, happens all the time.
I know my brother is very happy he got it done, so are others on here posting.
You will always find that 1 in a million case.
Thats why you sign before any surgery, not just eyes, but anything under the knife.
So, don't come back complaining, if you are that 1 in a million.

Re: Free 2nd Education for 2 years, what would you do ?

I really need to think hard about this one.

They say make a hobby your living, but I slack on that , too.
How can you have a hobby these days, working 50-60 hrs a week ?

Would be awesome to do something you can't wait to go to work for. That is fun, and makes you happy, and you smile when you get paid for something you would do just for fun.

You got to be joking.
Nope, I prefer my almost debt free Canadain citizenship.
