i had over 25 jobs before UPS. first real job with a paycheck was when i was 12 years old working part time on weekends at a flower shop.

hardest job was working for the railroad in UTah for 2 years. most fun was working for a carnival . another easy one was a lifeguard. travelled all over the country for years working odd jobs. overseas for 2 years in the Peace Corps.

best paying was working at a Casino but got tired working indoors.

UPS part time for only a very short while. package driver also just a short stint. they needed feeder drivers real bad to go over Donner Pass in the winter. did that for 95% of my career.

12 years old working part time on the weekends? Yeah, I don't think so.

Why do you feel the need to make stuff up?

You must have been one of those silver spooners. Whats so hard to believe about someone working at a paying job when they were 12? I've always had some kind of paying job (I'm not talking getting an allowance from Mom) ever since I was in 4th grade. Forth grade puts a person at about 9 or 10.

Hubby and his 2 brothers all had paper routes from 12 on. Papers are delivered every day of the week before school. All 3 paid their own tuition to Catholic H.S.

I get my paper online.

Paper routes are an exception to the rule.

No way----every kid that has picked up a rake or a snow shovel or worked at his Dads shop has never had "working papers". I live in a big time tourist area and any kid that wants a job around here during the tourist season can get one at a resort. Anything from dock boy to caddie to fishing guide. By the way--what are working papers anyway? Is that like a green card for U.S.citizens?

How many of those kids were not paid in cash at the end of each day?

Working papers are permits which spell out when and where 14-16 year olds can work and are required in NY.
