Three Fort Payne United Parcel Service drivers are proving the theory that it’s not the destination but the journey that’s most important.

Rod Coffey, of Fort Payne, Karl Abernathy, of Rainsville and Ronnie Ivey, of Henagar, were recently inducted into UPS’s Circle of Honor for drivers with 25 years or more of accident-free driving.

To put that into perspective, for Ivey and Abernathy, who both have driven “the big brown truck” for about 29 years, that’s more than 1.5 million miles without a wreck. For Coffey, who has driven a tractor trailer for UPS for about 26 years, that’s more than 2.5 million miles accident-free.
