What happens if minimum wage goes up?

Lunch is the best part of the day
Being upset about lower people suddenly being equalized to you is a legitimate grievance. There was obviously a reason for the range of wages.

Would it seem right if new drivers were top rate on day 1? It's something that needs to be earned. As it is, it's unusual for a job to be "top rate" by your 3rd or 4th year.

It's not about being mad at the people below you suddenly making the same as you. It's the slap in the face that you worked for years to progress and now some new guy just cut in line.

An analogy is passing amnesty and the people who spent years going through proper legal immigration and spending thousands to become citizens. Legal immigrants become furious at the idea of sweeping amnesty allowing people who broke the law by entering this country and now are rewarded a free stay.

I think this is one of the biggest complaints on the fedex side.

Amen, brother!! You want to raise a family on $15 an hour, but MAYBE 20 hours per week? Not going to happen.

When I was PT, I, like many coworkers had a full time job to pay my bills, and had UPS for benefits, extra cash, and a brighter future.

I stuck it out, got paid, and now am a CDL holding feeder driver.

Het out of mommies basement and try to improve yohr situation, don't wait for people to throw money at you and then get mad when they don't

The CEO of Dunkin Doughnuts said it best, a part time job at Mcdonalds is not supposed to support a family of 6 and is not supposed to make you to be able to buy a house. Now that Seattle is paying 15.00 per hour suddenly their workers realized that they are making too much money to continue to qualify for welfare, foodstamps, and free housing and childcare, so they are asking their employers to give them less hours, which proves my point all along, these people are just lazy trash that want the Gov to pay their bills, and then they can spend what they make asking people if they want frys with that on themselves with no financial responsibility for their lives.

This is such a sad commentary on our society. Unfortunately we are saturated with these type of people. Heck look at a large portion of our employees hired within the last ten years. Can someone tell me where the work ethic is.

Nobody expects to raise a family of 6 on $15 an hour. But it does make it a little easier to pay the the basics and survive. The whole point is to get people off of public assistance and enough to survive on. Minimum wage these days is not enough for a single person, much less for someone with a family.

And you know this as a fact? Or is this something you heard on the internet? Or fox news.
Its true, people who are on welfare are on it for a reason, they want to be, this is not Fox news, this is the telling truth that welfare people are gutter trash who say they don't have enough to live on but engage in the most expensive habits like smoking a pack a day and two bottles of wine mixed in with some drugs. FedEx is full of them. They want 15.00 per hour and can't even make change on a register and their only line is would you like fries with that ?

That's the point, they don't get off public assistance even with that wage, they don't want to that's why they are asking for fewer hours, if they really wanted to get off the welfare dime they would want more hours not less. They got no brains, no education and they damn sure have no work ethic at all. FedEx employs all this trash for cheap labor but it will come back to haunt them in the end. You don't get 15.00 with no skills, put the bong down, get online and take a class, be somebody besides an expense to someone else. At least Bill Clinton made these people work to get welfare, Obama lets them sit at home on their ass till its time to vote again.

Maybe you should look at actual facts instead of the right wing garbage spewed on Fox. You might actually have a better understanding of reality.

I just don't like to see people belittling another person's hard labor from their pedestal.

And if you devalue 1 hard working persons labor, you can devalue ALL hard working people's labor.

I have never seen a person on minimum wage work that hard, that's why the pay sucks, there's not much to it

Should I listen to the left winged agenda that got us to this point in the first place ? Remember this, right winged people have all the money, must be doing something right, by the way, do you have change for a thousand ? Your boy Obama wants everybody on welfare, Bernie Sanders wants to take my hard earned money and give it to some left wing trailer trash that won't work or get educated to get a decent job. That's the gosh darn facts.

The reality is I watch Fox news and I am not poor, now stop typing on your computer before the lights go out in your trailer.

This just in, CEO in Seattle who raised the pay of everyone in his credit card processing center to 70000 is on hard times, can't even afford to live in his own house, he has to rent it out, and all his best employees quit after seeing people with no skill or talent make as much as them. This is what happens when you give to those who do not deserve it, now he is stuck with talentless goons and his best are working somewhere else, serves that socialist right.

All I see in your definition is give me this, I can't make it on my own, excuses after excuses and everything I said above is correct, that is my hub to a tee, they even say it, why should I work more than this, I got it made. Reasons why people stay on government assistance for decades, all of the above, period.

Does $15 an hour= 70000?
Meanwhile here's the actual story you have put your own spin on.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/ceo-raised-minimum-wage-70-212850113.html
A CEO raised his company's minimum wage to $70,000 a year, and some employees quit because of it.
The New York Times reports that two of Gravity Payments' "most valued" members have left the company, "spurred in part by their view that it was unfair to double the pay of some new hires while the longest-serving staff members got small or no raises."

A thought-provoking post in regards to the synonyms ... covers every base for Liberal and Conservative meanings of opportunity.
