I don't really have a dog in this fight, but I'd think the video would either confirm or refute any claim that the individuals had taken personal property belonging to someone else. I expect that the accused, if guilty, could claim that the vehicle actually belonged to a third party, i.e., UPS., whom they were representing, and that instead of stealing the ipod, they were just securing it for the driver to prevent it's theft from their vehicle, and, of course, they would return it.

If the accusations are accurate, it's a pretty childish stunt. I think our management's time could be better spent on other endeavors. Certainly, if the police investigated the "crime", I'm sure our management people spent way too much time on this horseplay. My opinion, let's grow up, boys.

Any kind of theft is not tolerated at UPS. I fully expect LP to investigate this crime, and the supervisor will be escorted off UPS property for good.

This is what I heard: driver from *** was parked outside a library. He was inside delivering and a supe and manager were spying (also known as on-road observations). Mgr and supe jumped into package car looking for ammo since they strongly dislike the driver. They found no ammo, dvr filled out, park brake on, 4 ways on, truck secured, so the supe grabbed the driver's ipod from the dash and they took off. When the driver returned, he was quite upset to see that he had been robbed. He went back into the library to ask if they had surveillance cameras. He quite clearly saw the robbery and proceeded to call the police. Officer took report for petty larceny ( ipod value approx. $180) and suggested driver research how many dollars worth of downloads the ipod held because if the value of ipod and content added up to more than $1000, it would be grand larceny. Officer then headed to M* building to question the pillars of the community that UPS pays to run the joint.

The law should be stable but never stand still. It would be interesting to see a case like this make it to a U.S. District Court. You can file a lawsuit against anybody for anything. The trick is getting a judge to buy your argument.

This did happen. This is a true story.The driver did not do anything wrong.The problem is the mgr.He has been doing this for years. In the past few months he has taken about 10 drivers radios,and personal belongings( family pictures,cd's,anything of importance to piss them off) out of there trucks and.... threw them in the garbage.
L.p. was asked to investigate and they said they will look into it ( nothing came out of it ) they covered it up in the bldg,,,and have also said the camera/s dont work in the spot(which is all the spots the incidents happened) or are fake...C'mon .
This same driver has also been discriminated against recently by this mgr.This is not the first time this mgr. has done this.Guess what..It has finally caught up to him, and the sup. is a maroon for listening 2 him!
Did u know that this sup.went out again 2 harass the driver about his radio after all this just happened? ***....Now they cant find anything on this driver but they put him on 4 ...72's for Blah blah blah and blah.There trying to scare him..U push a guy so far...he will eventually defend himself...And this is a quiet guy..always doing the right thing...
BTW this supervisor was arrested and released for lying to police about not stealing the ipod.He was caught brown handed.. When police saw the video of him "STEALING" the ipod and running into "GETAWAY" car driven by mgr.
This is now on a higher level....When these mgmt people were interviewed ( GUESS WHAT ) .....................................................................They Lied again and did not give complete details of what happened... But the complete story is coming out and from what i know... the union is asking for the same treatment as if it were a driver!
NOW, the other other day a driver left his belongings by the value cage in bldg..He was told by an OMS that he seen it and would bring it in office...Guess what..... It cannot be found. No one knows where it went.It was thrown away because this driver is "important" to the center!
So hopefully they get fired because if it were a driver, we would get an escort out!

bubbles the fact is I own you. you're so worried about getting a few shots at me you'll throw any sense of fair play or common sense for that matter that you have out the window.

Let me reiterate what we have now that you're defending.

Driver who is under intense pressure to do the job now claims his on road supervisor and center manager both stole his ipod out of his package car.

driver claims he has video from the store that shows the center manager and onroad supervisor stealing his ipod.

Police have investigated , seen the video and are now part of the cover up.

Loss prevention has investigaged seen the video and is now part of the cover up.

Human resources would also be part of such proceedings , has seen the video and reports by the police and LP and is now also part of the cover up?

this is starting to turn into a heck of a fairy tale.

the sad thing is the guys who are posting these accusations here and who have identified the center manager and supervisor will never come back and admit it if they are wrong.
