The other night we had some HR clowns and a guy from the transit authority hanging out inside the building telling us the great benefits of taking the bus to work. Let them do the driving! I looked into it. Three transfer and an hour and a half later, I'd get to the park and ride near work. Then I get to walk 15 minutes into the building. After work I'd get to wait a couple hours til the first bus in the morning, take the same three transfers back home, and get back about 4 hours later than I would if I just drove. Pushing employees who work at night to take the bus is kind of silly if you ask me...
Don't get me wrong about public transit though; I take the bus to school every day. It picks me up next to my apartment and drops me off right on campus. In situations like that, it's great. I just don't see the benefit of wasting so much time trying to get there. It might work in maybe 5% of the cases, but to advertise to people who get off work hours before a bus is running again is kind of stupid.
