What would you like to see in the next contract?

I'd like to see iron clad language that protects a center's work from being given to another building. For example....in a local where each building has their own separate seniority lists feeder work originating in one building's/center's area shouldn't be given to another building's feeder department. In my area it's the hub that takes the work from the extended centers. If this is allowed to continue then there should be language that states that all buildings in that local are on one combined seniority list. At least that way the buildings that are getting screwed by the hub have a shot at actually performing their own work or work in another building's area. What's good for one should be good for all.

Then what is he crying about ??

And you "both" read the SPD.

And were able to comprehend it.

OK.

Ah....

Worked long enough for UPS, and retired.

And believed UPS cared about you.

That says a lot.

Yeah.... Ouch.

Retaliation on BrownCafe.

* This Forum.... is No longer worth my time *

You are a Big :censored2: Bag, Union Guy? Doubt it, you sound like a Yes man with a set about the size of M&M plain candies. Big Brown Nose type, seen your type over the years, accepting whatever Ups or any other company would drive down your throat. Someday Big Non Union Guy you will be eating Crow along with all your other cronies that are brainwashed and scared to stand up to Ups like we did in 177 years ago. I know Ups never cared over the years so why would all the YES voters give in to a crap contract? makes you wonder. The Union is growing weaker and weaker year after year and Ups can see the split in the ranks right here on this forum...they have you in their pocket. Big Joke the way you reply, this stinking contract may not affect you now but when and if you retire, by then your pension more than likely will barely cover your medical monthly premiums..Yeah..that sounds good.........

I knew he seemed out of touch and real grouchy.
Now I know why!
When I reach 200, I will be even more grouchy.

Ask enough questions? You must be kidding me.
Retired 1/1/08 and left with all the information given me and yes I did read my benefits booklet.

What I am gleaning from your posts.... (in every thread you post)

Was, that you weren't financially prepared for any changes.

I understand that.

Some members, retire at the 1st opportunity available.... only to have second thoughts.

I agree with some of your points.

Trying to insult me, by saying (my painfully obvious conclusions)....

Make me a "company" guy, doesn't hurt my feelings.

That comes with the territory when your serve in any elected position, with the Union.

But, I will make a note about it.

That's why I preach to the new guy's,to join the 401k plan. Everytime we get a raise, I remind my co-workers to bump up, their 401k.

We have guys that been there 20 years and put a whopping 1% in.

Agreed! I also have been talking to a lot of guys about putting at least 5% in the 401k. I say if you can put in 10% that's even better. It looks like a lot of contract language has," to be determined" on the pension language, because of potential increase in the health care costs.

FYI I started the 401k in 86 when it was available..I am set pretty nicely!! Thank You for your concern. Been traveling in our new RV I bought 6 months after I retired, just got back from 1 month trip up to Wyoming, Montana etc been on couple 3 month trips to Alaska FYI. I just want you to know I am not hurting, I planned for my ultimate retirement. I just was dissappointed that what was told to me what to expect for 10 years in my retirement pkg was a Lie..That's all. I am not going to starve trust me. I am sure if you were lied to like myself after over 25 yrs of all the crap we all go through you would feel like I do...maybe not....Just keep plodding along, I laugh all the way to the bank on the 1st..then on to the Casinos here in AZ while you are out delivering MY FUTURE..Thanks Again

Do you know how I know you're a under allowed driver? You sound like the spineless runners in my loop complaining that they get to much work when their and hour and a half under everyday. They say the same exact thing. You surely couldn't have ever been a coverage driver with that logic...or you just forgot where you came from.

I used to be called a so called "runner" before i had a bid route. I'm lucky to have a route but my OPS are horrible. 70+ business stops & 70 res a day. horrible traffic, Lots of suites, TONS of carting, lots of stairs. Plus I am the only non 9/5er in the loop. I run about an hour over everyday and I haven't even hit 30 yet. Those numbers are BS I quit caring just get my 10-11 hours everyday & watch my 401k grow. No complaining here!! I just give management a blank stare when asked about performance, works ever time!
I always ask to be retrained properly. Funny, I never get any takers...
