Whats wrong with President Obama?

Hey Tie,

Funny you should say that because I'm sure there are times (like maybe right now) when D could just as easily and has to some degree said exactly what you said except for one word change.

Funny how that is!
:happy-very:

I would be willing to conceed that every hundred posts or so you do throw one the other way. But in watching your posts I think your libertarian views clearly lean toward the liberal side of things. :happy-very:

Sad but true, it's a shame that millions of people had died in defense of liberty all the way from General Washington's troops marching half naked and barefoot through the snow in Jersey, to soldiers dying in Iraq, and we have come to this point in time when people welcome Socialism and Marxism.

You talk as if the S word is the end all, be all, thats destined to dominate America's economy. Capitalistic foxes will always be king, so don't fret and thats the way it should be, but somebody has to guard the hen house from another Wall Street "free for all" and a "greed gone wild" slumber party. Bailouts, new energy, healthcare, education, watch out Stalin here we come.....

Twenty years ago Obama would have been gone after the Rev. Wright fiasco. Now values mean nothing. Bill Ayres, a confidant, bombed the Pentagon and Capitol, what in the hell are people like this doing having access to our president?

To you, Rev Wright is a sound bite nut job , to me Rev Wright speaks power to truth. He may speak in Black Church lingo, but speaks in a tongue many closeminded Americans can't handle, self examination and the truth. True, twenty years ago Americans would have rejected Obama, for Wright and Ayers, but in today's world, people have access to much more information thru various sources to realize that Obama's not "paling around with terrorist". If your still stuck on those 2 guys, 2012 is a long time away.

American's have lost their individualism, everyone wants something for nothing. They think that government is the answer, government has always been the problem. That is what our founders tried to warn us against.
....Some have lost their sense of individualism, true.....But everyone ?
....Our founders who tried to warn us that gov't was the problem, WERE, part of the gov't.
.....states, and indivdual rights was settle after the Civil war and united the states
.....we still have freedom, the catalyst of individualism. What's the problem here ?

People need to read the documents that our country is founded on. Our country was founded on good moral and financial principles, if some one today mentions those same principles, they are made out to be an idiot. No wonder so many people are in financial and moral decay.

Does this mean you giving Bernie Madeoff and other Wall street hegdehogs a pass ?
I'll agree many people do need a financal bitch slap, but many have been outwitted, tempted and assured by the corrupt lending practioners. I believe this makes this system more immoral than the borrower.

We are going the way of Europe and the rest of the world, America will no longer be special and a place where someone can come to to make his mark.

Can we have some tears added to this Glen Beck rant

That is what is so stupid, if conservatives move to the center, they are no longer conservative, it isn't a good old boy white club, you leftists always bring race into it.

Just so you think I won't bring race into this, maybe you'll feel more comfortable with Fox News reporting this....

http://radioviceonline.com/the-party-of-southern-white-men/

In reality conservatives are inclusive, we've had women run for Vice-President, blacks in high offices in several administrations,(Bush had more blacks than Clinton)and supported equal rights more than the liberals have.(The southern Democrats would have never allowed equal rights to become law.) The only reason people of certain races are attracted to democrats is because they are led to believe they will get something for nothing, after the elections they are always dissapointed, and then they turn around and vote for the same people that lied to them.
Liberal values never last and they flat out don't work, no matter how many times they are tried , they are always a failure.

Sterotypically, people are attracted to Democrats cause more often than not, they fight for working and middleclass people's rights rather than cater to the super rich and Corperate America advantages.

Why have the establishment Republicans, failed to accept responsibility of the last eight years for having hand-picked G. W. Bush as their candidate and an end result of failed policies from foriegn policies to tax cuts.
When was the last time liberal values was in the Whitehouse that never last and don't work?......The closest thing maybe was Carter, but that was the seventies.......Are you referring to Clinton ?.....If you are, he was a centrist FYI and this country overall gave him a thumbs up approval.

Let's see, which government program really works and is cost efficient? Social Security, Medicare, Post Office(it only began to show a profit when it was privatized). Guess there is nothing in that list. When you send $1.00 to Washington, you're lucky to get $.25 in return.
You can only blame the people for electing the jerks they do, once in office, it is pretty much a lifetime job.
Very few have conservative values, in this country a person gets shouted down for being religious, paying his bills, trying to do the right thing or anything else that makes sense. Until that changes, our country will continue to go down the path it's headed.

Apparently, your under the impression one has to be Conservative (another label) to accept religion, pay bills, and do the right thing. So in your world, one can only have Con' or Lib sterotypical values, not a little bit of both....

Republicans will win many elections, the question is will they be any different than the liberals?
If this upsets you it should, sometimes the truth hurts.

It does upset me, I feel sorry for you but not your party. Good luck in 2010 and 2012.....:peaceful:

Wkmac,

Great points you bring up, unrelentingly channeling your Rep/Dem fusion philosopy:wink2:. However, war-time talks during presidential campaigns of civil service to your country and the draft is not an uncommon practise. Especially sends a message to the Politicians and policy makers to think twice about sending their own blood into a meatgrinder. But Wing Nut Bachman assessments is courtesy of a politcal philosophical brainwashing, not neccessarily boot camp and hand to hand combat.....Judo Chop :karateboy:

I've no doubt from your POV that this is the conclusion you've drawn!

You stated before we were from different planets to which I stipulated and there in is just more proof.

I think you have your pictures reversed. The second one is the rest of us. The first one is you selecting some obscure boxing so you can take pride in being different and if you vote your choice then you waste the vote. To each thier own. But the point still remains that the dems and reps control politics. Within that realm of power distribution it clearly appears your posts have always favored towards the dems point of view.

I also think it funny that republicans are so quick to scream about Obama's National Service ideas when last summer, many republicans were screaming at McCain because he lacked one!

And in all the talk about HR 1388 which was passed and signed into law as the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, it also a fact that a major backer and co-sponsor with Kennedy on the bill was Republican Orrin Hatch of Utah. This by no means was a Bill Ayers/ Rev. Wright conspiracy. :happy-very:

what has a health bill have to do with Rev. Wright and Bill Ayres.

Some of the Serve America Act included provisions for National Service and volunteerism. There is some concern that a mandatory measure along the lines of the Israeli model could be coming down the pike as Rahm Emanuel himself served as a youth in the Israeli system.

So far this seems the only measure passed concerning this issue but the Ayers/Wright comment was meant purely as humor.

Bachmann's vocalism on this issue of re-education camps is not based purely on conspiracy theorists from folks like Alex Jones. In Sept. 2008' the mainstream Investor's Business Daily ran the story, "Michelle's Boot Camps For Radicals" which alleges to document worrisome comments and events. This article has even taken a more prominent role on YouTube via this nearly 10 minute piece.

Civilian National Security Force

I don't fear the so-called communist re-education camps vis-a-vis the post Vietnam war Vietnam but I am concerned for the potential of an Israeli model type system which I do oppose as I would any re-education camp.

Rahm Emanuel is a good student of gov't and he knows you don't have to get the payoff in one lump. If he can lay the foundation now, it's a piece of cake to add on floors over time until the house is complete and you never realized it was even being built until the new neighbors have moved in!

Who said that he could re-write the bond holders contract with Chrysler ?
Basic law states that bond holders have first pick at any assets, not the 29 cents on the dollar he has offered.

This isn't so much about Obama specifically but economisit Paul Krugman is one voice of which President Obama does listen so it could concern his future actions along with the democrat Congress who also follow Krugman as well. My guess is he also has some republican fans as well, they're just better at hiding that fact.

I guess at some point the gov't will ask that most famous of questions often heard on the infamous credit card commercial.

What's in your wallet?
:wink2:

This seems like as good a place for a short hijack as any. I received the following in an E-mail that I thought was to be humorous. But if you think about it, it could have some merit.
A very simplistic solution to the economic situation:

Patriotic retirement:
There's about 40 million people over 50 years old....... in the work force - pay them $1 million apiece severance with the following stipulations.
1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings - UNEMPLOYMENT FIXED
2) They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered - AUTO INDUSTRY FIXED.
3) They either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - HOUSING CRISIS FIXED.
Like I have been saying, they are bailing out the wrong people.

All for the price tag of $40mil

Do the math trpnkl. It's not $40mil, it's $40 trillion! Where do you propose we get $40 Trillion dollars when even Obama on Saturday is now admitting we are broke.

The idea in many respects (ignoring economic principles mind you) seems better than the looneyness of bailing out every corporation that comes down the pike but who ever came up with the idea IMO put litle thought into actually paying for it.

I also see you get your email from the same folks as Moreluck!
:happy-very:

But I'll give you both an A+ for at least thinking outside the box which is something neither party is willing to do. Maybe you 2 should run for office. Look at the bright side, you can't make it any worse!

BTW: President Obama and the democrats will not cut gov't anywhere (not that republicans would either) so look for tax increases including on the working middle class he claimed were gonna have a tax cut. It's more than that bad and his hero Krugman is already laying the seedbed with op-eds to make the case.

Subject: Fwd: The New Americans

John is 63 years old and owns his own business. He is a life-long Republican and sees his dream of retiring next year is now all but gone. With the stock market crashing and all
the new taxes coming his way, John knows he will be working for a good number more years.

John has a Granddaughter. Ashley is a recent college grad. She drives a late model
car, wears all the latest fashions, and also likes going out and eating out a lot.

Ashley campaigned hard for Obama, and
after he won the election she made sure her Grandfather (and all other
Republican family members) received more than an earful on how the world is
going to be a much better place now that Obama won the election.

Ashley recently found
herself short of cash and cannot pay her bills, again. As she has done many
other times in the past, she e-mailed her Grandfather asking for some financial
help. Here is his reply:

===============================================================

Sweetheart,

I am replying to your request for more money.
Ashley, you know I love you dearly and am sympathetic to your financial
plight. Unfortunately, times have changed. With the election of
President Obama, your Grandmother and I have had to set forth a bold new
economic plan of our own....the 'Ashley Economic Plan'. Let me explain. Your grandmother and I are highly productive, wage-earning tax payers.

As you know, we have lived a comfortable life and in return have forgone many things like fancy vacations, luxury cars, etc. We have worked hard and were looking forward to retiring
soon. But this plan has changed. Your president
is significantly raising our personal and business taxes. He says it is
so he can give our hard earned money to other people. Do you know what this means, Ashley? It means less income for us. Less income means we must cut back on many business and personal expenditures. One example is,
we were forced to let go of our receptionist today. You know her.
She always gave you candy when you visited my
office. Did you know she worked for us for the past 18
years? I can't afford her anymore.

That is a taste of the business side.. Some personal
economic affects of Obama's new taxation policies include none other than
you. You know very well that over the years your grandmother and I have
given you thousands of dollars in cash, tuition assistance, food, housing,
clothing, gifts, etc., etc. By your vote, you have chosen another family
over ours for help. Judging from your Email requesting more money, I
recommend you call 202-456-1111.

That is the direct telephone number
for the White House. You yourself repeatedly told me I was foolish voting
Republican. You said Mr. Obama is going to be the people's
president and is going to help every American live a better life. Based
upon everything you have told me and things we heard from him as he campaigned,
I am sure Mr. Obama will be happy to send a check or transfer money into your
checking account. Have him call me for the transaction and account
numbers, which by now I know by heart.
Perhaps you now can understand what I have been saying
for all my life: those who vote for the president should consider what the
impact of an election will be on the nation as a whole, and not just be
concerned with what they can get for themselves (welfare, etc.). What Obama voters don't seem to realize is all of the
"government's" money he is 'redistributing' to illegal aliens and non-taxpaying
Americans (deemed "less fortunate") comes from tax money collected from income
tax-paying families. Remember how
you told me, "Only the richest of the rich will be affected"? Guess what, honey?
Because of our business, your Grandmother and I are now
considered to be the richest of the rich. On paper, it might look that
way. But in the real world, we are far from it. But, as
you said while campaigning for Obama, some people will have to carry more of the
burden so all of America can prosper. You understand what that means,
right? It means that raising taxes on productive people
results in them having less money. Less money for everything, including granddaughters.

Congratulations on your choice for "change". For future
reference, I encourage you to attempt to add up the total value of the gifts and
money you've received from us over the years, and compare it to what you expect
to get over the next four years from Mr. Obama.
Remember, we love you dearly... but from now on you'll
need to call the number referenced above when you need help.
Good luck, sweetheart.

Love,

Grampa.

PS: How was your recent trip to Jamaica ? I have never been there but I
hear it is lovely this time of year.
