I was just watching the Nascar race in Daytona. My guy of course got wrecked. yes Im one of those under employed, toothless, gun toting bible thumping red necks from hell.
Point being the stands were empty. For those who know, that doesnt happen. Kinda like the Bristol race. You had to buy tickets 3 yrs ahead of time, now they are selling empty seats.
Do you think it could possibly have anything to do with the economy?

Nascar has been losing fans for 10 straight years. Its appeal is gone. Since the introduction of non american cars, its fan base has dropped off at EACH TRACK across this country. Tracks with multiple races have trimmed back to 1 race a year because they cant fill the stands. Television revenue has dropped significantly and even FOX is considering opting out of Nascar coverage for next year.

The economy and Nascar do not go hand in hand. The toothless rednecked RV fan is all that is left of the fan base, and the yuppie crowd is disappearing from the stands. It was the yuppie crowd that spent the most money on nascar items and as the yuppie crowd moves on, so does their money.

Dont even try to blame OBAMA for nascars failures.

If Mitt Romney had his way, FORD , GM and CHRYSLER would have all gone to BK, and ALL their NASCAR contributions would have gone away with them, and only JAPANESE CARS WOULD BE GOING IN CIRCLES!

Think about it.

In 10 years time, NASCAR will be broke and BAILED out by the JAPANESE who will be the only auto makers still capable of donating hundreds of millions of dollars to keep the sport going.

Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. You can THANK OBAMA for saving your precious ROUNDY ROUND for another 5 years.

Peace.

No matter what you think, Obama is over his head.
Because...he disagrees with the Right? By saving the auto industry?
By giving the order to get bin laden? By getting health care reform passed? Over says he's a failure, you say he's in over his head, and still the republican party can't find a rock solid contender to run against him. Hmmm. Something doesn't add up.

Meanwhile, back to the topic of the thread. THE PATHETIC showing of less than a thousand people to see MITT ROMNEY.

i admire the faithful crowd of die hard supporters of the right wing and their equal faithful denial of the obvious. (you cant win) Clearly Romney is in for a butt kicking in Michgan, Texas , Colorado and such and RICK SANITORIUM will be your candidate!

Good luck with that! Maybe you need a refresher course in GOP politics....

Lets see, first the GOP went with Gerald Ford in 1976 when Nixon resigned in disgrace and lOST ( the first blackeye for the GOP)
Then, George Bush 1 went Bill Clinton and LOST (second black eye for the GOP)
Then , Bob DOLE went against Clinton and got SMOKED (knockout for the GOP)
Then John McCain stunned the world with a mentally challenged woman who likes basketball players (wink) and got demolished.

Now they want to put RICK SANTORUM out there? PLUHEESE!

Romney doesnt have a chance to get the nomination now that Newt is screwing him up by dropping out of Michigan before the primary! His votes will become Santorum votes and that spells disaster for Romney.

As if it mattered anyways, by the look of the crowd that took the time to show up, nobody is listening to Romney, especially in Michigan, home of the UAW.

GO MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS! Kick Romney to the curb!

Peace.

Well of course he had likeability, he never took a stand, unless it was on a social entitlement issue. He was never there voting. But he got paid to be there and vote for the people who elected him. Its easy to be likeable if you go whatever way the wind blohttp://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/members/O000167/votes/page8/ws.
It takes a real man to stand tall.

GOTTA love how mis information gets repeated over and over the GOP faithful.. "OBAMA didnt vote, OBAMA wasnt around to vote, OBAMA voted present" blah blah blah....same old talking points and distortions.

How about John McCain who has the WORST VOTING RECORD IN SENATE HISTORY? McCain has missed MORE VOTES than ANY senator in HISTORY!

And yet, you blab on about OBAMA's record. Please...

Peace..

Hmmmm, he only saved the auto industry by re-writing the bankruptcy laws and giving the unions more control within the companies. About getting bo , why was he out golfing up to the last moment. Healthcare that a majority of the voters never wanted passed and how come nobody could read it before it was signed ?
What doesn't add up is the real election is months away and if the GOP is throwing mud now , just what will bhos have left to use .
What will be his great October surprise ?

None of that suggests that he is "in over his head" or hasn't accomplished anything, does it? In fact it suggests just the opposite.

Everything that Obama has accomplished has been as a result of his allegiance to Communist ideals and Kenyan voodoo cermonies. If anything good happens, it's because of something The Right did (even if it didn't), and if anything bad happens, it's because he's a Communist/Socialist/Fascist/Muslim that is plotting the end of this country. Never mind that Communism and Fascism are at different ends of the Right/Left spectrum, and that to argue BHO is both illustrates the utter ignorance of those that make such claims.

Oops, sorry. I left out Black Supremacist.

I enjoy reading everyone's input.
My problem is that there is not one candidate worth my vote.
Obama is just a puppet of the power that put him into office.
Mitt is a hairdo, that "looks" Presidential.
Santorum is about condoms, and the constitution.
Gingrich is a has been, trying to regain his glory days.
Poor sweet Ron Paul,..... enough said.
I am old enough to have endured 10 Presidents, and their administrations.
I had the privilege to vote for-(or against) 8 of them.
In the fullness of time, I have come to this realization.
I do not care, who is the President.
All of the promises, all of the Wars, all of the inflation/deflation, all of the tax cuts, all of the tax increases I have had to endure, for the last 5 decades, just add up to new promises, by politicians.
Damn simple equation for me.
I was taught by a mentor that a working man will never have anything, unless he works.
Good times and bad, I always found work no matter who was in office.
Y'all vote as you wish.

Sat. made a lot of good points.......have I been around for that many presidents??? Really??

We've always had work here (in our home), no matter what the rest of the country did.

The difference I feel this time is that good old America is being sold out and made to look weak and our way of life, not preserved. I don't like the feeling. That's why I need a new person in charge. The person in charge now does not share my view of America.

Good thoughts. Do not agree 100 per cent, but still excellent observations.

On a different note, there are 66 million people who dont share your view of America as well.

Peace.
