When does seniority start?

Hey guys, I have been lurking this site for a while and decided to make my first post. Here's my question.

If someone gets hired seasonally for peak and gets let go at the beginning of the year, then gets hired permanently at a later date does their seniority start from the perm hire date or date of seasonal hire?

I assume it starts from the date of perm hire.

Thanks!

You would be correct. Just for kicks what are the 2 different start dates you have, and what state are you in?

Thanks for the reply,

Actually the question is about a co-worker. I was almost positive it was from date of perm hire.

Our sup thinks I have less seniority. I just want to clear it up.
