Will ups protect my job ?

Hi I am a part time dock worker and I'm thinking about joining the national guard. Will ups protect my job when I have to leave for boot camp or will I be fired. Is ups good to there employes who are in the military thank

Technically there will be a job waiting for him----it may or may not be the same job.

UPS will not protect your job. The government and the union will.

My son worked for 3-4 years out of high school, went in to the navy, came out, went back to the hub with time served credited to seniority. As long as you leave on good terms.

Make sure you check your pension fund. Ups has to put money into that also when you are on active duty, or when you do your 2 weeks active duty if in the reserves.

This is only if you were already enlisted while working here. You can't quit and then sign up and expect the company to keep making pension payments on your behalf.
