Working two separate shifts at UPS?

Is this something people do? I've worked at UPS for a little over 4 months now and I'm looking for a second job. I figured I might as well pick up another shift at my hub if all else fails. Could I withdraw from the union so I wouldn't have to pay my dues since I'd be getting the same benefits from my first shift?

You mean work a double if management allows it....or actually apply for a postion on a second shift? Example...say you work preload and you want to apply for local sort as well....is that what you're talking about?

Apply for a second shift. Treat it as a second job, so to say.

You pay no extra dues for working extra shifts.

Peak season you will be able to double shift every day. At my hub right now, they are cutting back on double shifting big time starting next week. We will see how it goes.

Cant do that in my building....you can double shift as volume allows...but not be guaranteed to work a second shift everyday.
