35$ union dues? lucky! im a part timer from the central states region and i pay more then 35$ a month, as a part timer.. Senority before August 1st, 2002 2.5x your hourly wage per month goes to the union. I kinda get irked by the dues that way. I earn more per hour then a new person so even if dues were calculated on the same scale the teamsters would still get more money from me. but ive been there longer so they get me twice. with the higher multiplier per month and threw my higher wage. My main argument with that is do I get more representation to justify my paying higher dues? Im sure this might irritate some people. Hopefully I dont start a war. Dont hate me I love the teamsters I really shouldnt have complained. I could justify my higher dues I guess by TOMMOROWS RAISE! YAHOO! 1.10 an hour by guaranteed 17.5 hours a week = guaranteed more then a thousand dollar raise per year not to shabby. Realisticly its alot more then that because rarley do we work the minimum 3.5 hours a day. And regarding the initial post in this thread... why bother complaining for the O/T as a part time sup? from what I understand in my building O/T for P/T sups is Time and a Tenth. Yup. wow. divide your salary by 27.5 get your hourly rate then if they dont change the time card u filed they'll give u an extra 10% an hour for those hours worked. All those double shifts last christmas really paid off hey? u got double the headache for 10% extra nice nice nice. I wonder how many teamsters would double shift for time and tenth? sorry this was so long and slightly off subject. Its my first post hope I didnt make an enemies..
