UPS applauds Congress for passing legislation to enhance the safety of the nation's healthcare supply chain and drug distribution network. The bill, which President Obama is expected to sign, establishes the first-ever national standards and requirements for pharmaceutical distribution providers.

"The Drug Quality and Security Act is a giant step forward for the safety of America's drug distribution network and our supply chains," said Scott Davis, UPS chairman and CEO. "The creation of uniform federal standards will reduce regulatory complexity, while the addition of track-and-trace measures will add transparency and accountability."

UPS Info for UPSers China's Logistical Nightmare: Why FedEx And UPS Are Dying To Expand In China - Seeking Alpha

Hedge fund titan Dan Loeb is buying into FedEx (FDX), and UPS (UPS) trading at an all-time high. The parcel delivery business is strongly back in fashion among investors. But, as of now, these two giants are all but absent from the world's largest and fastest-growing delivery market, China.

The Chinese government, for now, has mainly shut them out, allowing domestic Chinese companies, in particular one called Shunfeng Express, to grow from start-up to giants in less than a decade.

FedEx and UPS will need to find ways to grow in China. The opportunity there is truly outsized.

UPS Info for UPSersPostal Service to Make Sunday Deliveries for Amazon - New York Times

The cash-short United States Postal Service, which has failed to win congressional approval to stop delivering mail on Saturdays to save money, has struck a deal with the online retailer Amazon.com to deliver the company’s packages on Sundays — a first for both, with obvious advantages for each.

The deal, announced on Sunday and taking effect immediately, in time for the holiday shopping season, gives the Postal Service a chance to take some business from United Parcel Service and FedEx, which do not deliver on Sundays. Now, some orders that would have been handled by either of those carriers for Monday delivery will go through the Postal Service and arrive on Sunday.
