FedEx Corp., the second-largest U.S. package-delivery company, projected handling about 8 percent more shipments on its busiest day before the Christmas holiday amid “positive signs” for the economy.

More than 13 million shipments will move on Dec. 14, up from 12 million on 2008’s peak on Dec. 15, FedEx said today in an e-mailed statement.
